In accordance with a detailed cleaning plan, established organizational policies and procedures, the floor care technician performs general and specific cleaning to provide a clean and safe environment. Floor care technicians promptly and efficiently perform assigned cleaning tasks as related to specialized floor care. The right individual must posses or have the desire to learn the expertise to effectively manage specialized floor care tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning, maintaining, and restoring floors, hallways and common areas using a variety of techniques and equipment. This can include stripping, waxing, buffing, steam cleaning, and more.
- maintaining and cleaning equipment, including mops, brooms, brushes, pads, rags, and pails. This includes lubricating scrubbers, adjusting pads, installing filters, and checking batteries.
- Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
- Operating chemical dispensing units and measuring/labeling chemicals correctly.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE correctly.
- Keeping an inventory of floor areas
- Reporting maintenance issues or repair needs to supervisor.
- Following safety procedures and guidelines, and adhering to organizational safety, risk management, and infection control standards.
Qualifications/Special Skills:
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Knowledge and skills in the use of power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet, dry and power vacuum equipment and push sweeper.
- A clean driving record.
- The ability to pass a background and drug test.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
